Happy Easter

Or more importantly, Thank You Jesus (for your sacrifice). I know I don't get very deep or personal on this blog, but why not?? It's my blog, if you don't like it, don't read it (  I guess that message is for the two people, besides myself, who actually do :) Anyways, I always try to make sure the girls know the real meaning of big holidays. We can't have them running around thinking it is all about them and candy and presents and santa and bunnies, seriously!! I have this really cool Easter book (thanks Grandma and Papa) that explains a lot. We read it the other night, and Madilyn had a lot of questions. Bella, at this point, was already passed out (sugar crash? I think so).
Madilyn: "I don't get it".
Me: "When we sin, which is what it is called when we do bad things like not listening to mommy or fighting with our sister or telling a lie, the punishment is death. Jesus died on the cross so we didn't have to, and if we love Jesus and ask him to forgive us, we get to go to Heaven"!!
Madilyn: (with eyes wide)"You mean Jesus got killed"?!
Me: "He did but after 3 days he was alive again to watch over us and he went back to heaven to be with God".
Madilyn: "Oh my gosh". (she then gets sidetracked and yells something) "Oh no"! ( she now puts her head down and crosses her hands and begins praying frantically and saying she is sorry)
Me: I hope some of that got through, especially the part about the punishment for fighting with your sister is death :)

My cute bunny

Its a unicorn, in case you were wondering.
On to shallower things. We had some fun on the day before Easter, illegally I might add!! We went with some friends to their HOA sponsered egg hunt. It was really fun and the girls had a blast. Some of the pics are above.

Time for the Tooth Fairy!!

Madi lost her first tooth!! Papa helped het tie a string around it and she tugged it gently for a while until it came out. She was so excited and couldn't wait for the Tooth Fairy to come! She left 5 bucks!! Pretty good payday for a little baby tooth.

Yeah, it's out. You can barely see it. It is the smallest tooth ever!

Madi performed at halftime of the Harlem Globetrotters game, over the weekend. I do not have video because cameras were not allowed, but we had a blast. Grandma and Papa came too! !

The Special Someone

A few weeks after school started, Madilyn kept talking about the "Special Someone". She kept saying, "I want to be the special someone, Mom. When am I gonna get to be the special someone?" I had no idea what she was talking about. I kept saying, " You are special Mama, you are amazing!" I found out later, when I volunteered in class, there really was a special someone, or as the teacher called it, student of the week. Well, it is finally Madilyn's turn to be the special someone!!!
Last Friday she came running out of school holding a poster and yelling, "I'm the special someone!!" She has been on cloud 9 all week. Monday she brought in a poster we filled out telling all about herself. She got to talk to the class about her favorite food (sushi), her favorite place (Sea World), her favorite thing to do (go to the playground), and what she would wish for if she had one wish (a guinea pig). Tuesday was show and tell. She brought her Rainbow Brite doll she got for her birthday. It talks and she said everyone loved it. Wednesday was her day to tell the class about a talent or special collection. She brought her pom poms  and talked about Mini Flips. Thursday was the big day!! She got to eat lunch with Mr. Baker. She asked me all week when it was going to be Thursday. I guess eating with the principal is a GOOD THING now. You sure didn't want to eat with the principal or be involved with them in any way when I was in school!! So, she had her lunch and was princess for a week.

Fun with Daddy and Papa!

Billy and my Dad took Madi out on the boat Thanksgiving weekend. I was a little nervous about it, but she had a blast! Thank goodness for the Arizona weather.
